Some days we just need to stop and take a minute.
It is so easy to get caught up in the daily rush, our to do lists and become so preoccupied with what we need to do next that we completely miss what is happening in the now.
Taking a moment to look, and I mean really look, at art can have incredible effects on our wellbeing. In fact, research* indicates that engaging with visual art can have positive effects on mental health. A systematic review published in Frontiers in Psychology examined various studies and found that art viewing can lead to reductions in stress and mental exhaustion, increases in dopamine levels (a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure), and enhanced critical thinking skills. These benefits contribute to improved mood and overall mental well-being.
So what are you waiting for? Take some time for you and enjoy some art
